"Berci Thuróczy was diagnosed with a malignant tumor at age 21. Why me? - he rightly asked. Time and the young man's story have since given the answer: the illness showed him a path. Having overcome the disease and himself, he became a biomedical engineer, runs marathons, is working on a medical device of his own design, writes books, and organizes communities to give strength and inspiration for everyday life to his fellow sufferers and fellow athletes:

» _If what I've written has managed to give even just one person a spark, then I feel it was worth fighting through these hopeless situations. Since my recovery, I look at my health and life differently: I give thanks for it every day. Life is so beautiful, I love living so much. I certainly don't want to die for a hundred and twenty years. Since my recovery, I believe with all my heart in the boundless nature of human will, in the invincibility of the instinct to live, in the power of persistence, passion, curiosity, and love. In the fact that we can only stay physically healthy if our soul is healthy too. In the fact that we must keep searching for our path in life until we find it. In the fact that life sometimes teaches us through the greatest suffering. The only question is how we interpret these painful events: as a tragedy, as a blow - or as a blessing?_«
